The Byzantines

The Byzantines ruled Egypt in 323BC. Many ideological disputes erupted between the Egyptian Church and the Byzantine Church. In the reign of Emperor Hercules, the Persians occupied Egypt in 618AD and ruled it for ten years. The Byzantine rule of Egypt ended when the Arabs invaded Egypt in 640AD.
